Bagheera
A domestic black cat, Bagheera is the "pet" and companion of Miranda Kinnis, Viscountess of Cats. While some would see him as "merely a cat," Bagheera is important enough to the Noble to count as one of her Bonds.
Enigma, mount
Enigma is the horse usually used by Timothy Vahn, Anchor to Miranda Kinnis.
It is unclear for now whether the horse is seen as Timothy's "personal mount" by the castle staff, or whether it is still a horse in general use.
Cat's Paw, mount
Cat's Paw is the horse currently used by Viscountess Miranda Kinnis. He was one of the normal horses within the castle's stables until claimed for the Nobles' own.He has been "enchanted" once with the relative abilities, dexterity, etc. of a cat, but this has since worn off. For the moment he is a normal steed.
Samantha (Sammy) Kinnis, Anchor to Miranda Kinnis, Viscountess of Cats
Samantha (or "Sammy" as she has always been known to her Noble) is Miranda's (paternal) cousin, but the two of them grew up more like sisters than anything. The two were all but inseperable as children, and spent most of their time together, often listening to the stories of "Mere," Miranda's maternal grandmother. Although Miranda even as a small child was reticent, and not very skilled with other people, Sammy helped to draw her out of her shell - and sometimes into trouble, even with the best of intentions.
When still in their teens the two were separated by a move that Sammy's family made across the country, but in some ways the two remained inseparable. When both fled their own respective nests they remained at some distance geographically, but they've remained in close touch, visiting each other occasionally as their situations allowed. It was during one such visit from Sammy that the two agreed to go along to a local Renaissance Faire, at the urging of Miranda's closest non-relative friend, Timothy Vahn. And it is there that the unimaginable happened, and the Faire became a Chancel. Immediately after, Miranda asked permission to make Sammy one of her first two Anchors, and this permission was granted.
Sammy now acts as the "off-site" Anchor for Miranda, keeping tabs on the mundane world and keeping some bolt-hole for Miranda to visit when she feels the need for a bit of "reality." She's still trying to come to grips with her new worldview, and calling in life, but she's done well so far. Then again, their new bond has only just begun.
Timothy Vahn, Anchor to Viscountess Miranda Kinnis
Timothy Vahn was a skilled musician up until recently, earning his money with his musical skills (and helped by his obvious flair and his passion for the music). On many weekends, he earned some extra income by busking at the local Renaissance Faire, and helping to create and sell various puzzle boxes at the same festival. He met Miranda not long ago, and soon became one of the very few people that she could call a friend, helping her to find some small employment in the process. He also helped to changed Miranda's life in a more drastic way when he brought her (and her cousin Sammy) along with him to the same Faire - on the very same night that it was to become a Chancel under Sartael Regis Rex.
Now it is Miranda who has helped to find a calling for Timothy, although not quite in the same way. When she was EnNobled by Lord Sartael upon the EnChancelment of the Fairegrounds, it was her two closest friends and two current companions that she turned to for her first Anchors. Both accepted, and both now are in her service, and in the service of the Chancel Xypnios. While Sammy is "posted" outside the grounds of the Chancel for the most part, Timothy serves within its borders, and is still trying to come to grips with a world where Elves and Magic are real, and where Music's mistress herself resides as a "sister" to his Noble.
Lady Dana St. Croix, Power of Blood
Dana St. Croix, Power of Blood, was enNobled as a very young French woman. She has very dark brown hair, typically dresses in red and white, and keeps a cool, emminently Gallic manner about her.
She acts as second to Katherie Henderson, Duchess of Vengeance, as she duels Viscount Miller at the Tourney Grounds of Xypnios.
Lord Patrick Mulroy, Duke of Fire
Patrick Mulroy, Duke of Flames, is a thin, slight man filled with restless energy and seeming nervousness. Unless guised, he is instantly recognizeable by his flaming red hair, smouldering eyes, and burning hands.
Although his eyes burn in the glory of his Lord Gabriel's name, his Code is not known. He may be the designated Ambassador of his Chancel, or simply Ambassador to Icefell, where Elena first met him.
Lady Katherie Henderson, Duchess of Vengeance
Duchess Henderson is arrogant and hot tempered, and particularly prickly about intrusions into matters of her Domain or her Imperator's Code of Heaven. She holds Miller, the Viscount of Enforcement, in exceptionally low regard for crimes against her estate comitted in the past.
She will duel Viscount Miller at the Tourney Grounds in Xypnios.
Marchessa of Music. Soulshard of Sartael Rex.
A musician in her mortal life, Celeste was caught in the Godfall of Sartael while performing at the RenFaire that became Locus Xypnios.
Luther Von Bek, Decay's Regal.
A member of the Locust Court, he calls (or styles) himself "the highest servant of Entropy Regius Rex." A right arrogant... something, who doesn't like Redtooth for some reason.
Quote: "The Locust Court takes a great interest in you: We don't like surprises."
Miranda Kinnis, Viscount of Cats.
Miranda Kinnis is the new Power of Cats, as recently instated by Sartael Regius Rex, her Imperator. She resides in the heart of Chancel Xypnios with the rest of her Familia and her two anchors, Timothy Vahn and Samantha Kinnis.
Miranda was born in the American south, of a mixed African and Caucasian background, leaving her with a mixed cultural background and family history, and in the process a deep love of and need for freedom - one of the reasons perhaps that she felt herself drawn to the tenets of the Wildlord, if it was not in fact her Imperator that made her so.
Locus Xypnios is the new Chancel of Sartael Regius Rex.
Created very recently, just after the WildLord Sartael was shot in the back of the head with an Abhorrent Arrow, it is home to:
Miranda Kinnis, the Viscountess of Cats.
Abigail Taylor, the Viscountess of Fear.
Celeste Eleanor de Borne, the Marchessa of Music.
Elena Hernandez, the Marchess of the Night and Viscountess of Dreams.
Darren Hofstadter, the Viscount of Stealth.
Arnold "Arnie" Thorne, the powerful Erus of Xypnios.
Sartael is the Wildlord Imperator of Cats, Dreams and Night, Fear, Music, and Stealth.
Having suffered a grievous wound in the Valde Bellum very recently, Sartael WildLord crashed to Earth like a burning, falling star.
His previous Nobles on Earth dead, Sartael's last acts were the enChancelment of a renaissance fair into what is now Locus Xypnios, and the enNoblement of his new Familia:
Much to their constant dismay and irritation, Sartael also raised Arnold "Arnie" Thorne up as an Erus to help them guard their lands.
Sartael's grievous wound has not yet begun to heal. He hangs upside down from the Weeping Tree at the center of the Chancel, the point of a broken Abhorrent Arrow protruding from the wreckage of one eye. He bleeds slowly onto the ground beneath the Weeping Tree, and no container thus far has been able to hold the quantity of blood.
